SSL error code 4165 ~Holly Desvelubergakol 8.Jan.03 01:50 AM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0Windows 2000
Hi Dave.
Thanks again for helping.
The error saying HTTP Server: SSL handshake failure, IP Address [my IP here], Keyring [keyfile.kyr], [SSL Error: Network IO error], code [4165] comes up every time an attempt to connect using SSL is made regardless of whether it is successful or not. It is displayed even before the client certificate is presented to the server.
I know this because have two certificates in my browser for testing purposes that were isssued using Domino CA. One is allowed to access in the ACL while the other has no access. Whenever I connect to the protected database (e.g. secret.nsf), the browser will prompt me to choose between the two. Even when I have not chosen any certificate, the server would have already displayed the 4165 error.
Of course when I clicked on the allowed user, I can access the database while the other one will show 'You are not authorized to view this page' with the server console showing a corresponding 'You are not authorized to perform this operation [/secret.nsf].
The latter part is pretty normal I think and perfoms correctly despite the 4165 error. I just don't understand why the 4165 handshake error pops up every time an attempt on SSL is made even before the user presents the certificate. You have any ideas?
One more thing, what is 'Network I/O error' anyway? Is there some place where I can look up all these errors. I can't find anything from LDD (or is it that I'm not looking hard enough?).
